Is Philips Norelco Speed XL Electric 8270XL worth buying?

I have used Norelco razors for many years and specifically a Norelco Model 9160XL for the last 5 years. The on / off switch is getting reluctant so I started looking for a replacement and ended up using the SmartTouch Contour System shaver, Philips Norelco speed XL electric 8270XL. I need this model so that it has a base for charging. It came unloaded, but took much less than an hour to fully cost.

You will find blue LEDs flashing while charging and remain individually solid as cost is completed. The shaver stands firmly inside the base and you can connect the charging cable directly to the shaver and bypass the bottom if you wish. This can be an alternative for traveling, so the base can be left at home. The bottom is neither big nor heavy.

In my opinion, the essential features of the Norelco 8270XL are: floating heads that conform to the contours of the face, shaving head / whisker compartment that can be rinsed out and a holder that is lightweight to pack when traveling and allows you to the razor is seated using the available head to dry.

The shaver is significantly quieter compared to the Norelco that I used a long time ago. He did a good job, even for your first shave. It took much less time than shaving with shaving cream plus a razor. There is no way this can be shaved long enough to really feel like a razor shave, but it looks good enough to go through a razor shave. I really do feel some unshaven hairs under my chin, but regardless of the time I spent with the sunscreen plus a razor, I would have unshaven hairs as well.

The shaver is comfortable to hold, light and quiet. Norelco recommends replacing the blades every year and the price is only $ 17 which seems reasonable. The package incorporated a travel situation that fits only the razor, but not the cost cord or base. The situation is very well designed with a sturdy casing to protect the razor somewhere, plus a smooth zippered back. A small cleaning brush is incorporated.

A special feature of your new razor is that the water runs properly through the razor each time you rinse the whisker compartment. There are two small outlets, one on each side, near the bottom of the shaver. In addition, the water comes out correctly from the recharge connection. In effect, you throw the correct whiskers through it and down the sink and that’s a good idea. The holder includes a small hole so that residual water can drain and does not collect inside the refill well from the holder.

Anyway, towards the meat of the points. This razor has exceeded all my expectations and is way better than my old Norelco. It is quite quiet and cuts very close. Most likely a direct result of the XL speed heads. Almost competitive with a sword. My old 1 was never this quiet, and I can’t recall cutting as close as this new 1. This model has 5 LEDs that indicate cost status, plus an additional low battery LED. The sides of this razor have a rubberized textured area that makes it really easy to hold. In addition to the floating heads that Norelco had had for several years, there is actually a pivot that allows the entire head assembly to “rock” a bit, keeping it close to the skin as it moves. The head assembly opens very easily and includes a metal hinge that keeps it connected to the physical razor. That hinge uses a spring clip to hold it towards the razor. You can remove the head completely for a much more thorough cleaning if you wish, which is less difficult than leaving it on the body. Putting that clip back in place is painful, but not terrible. Overall, I am very satisfied with this model. Philips Norelco speed XL electric 8270XL got everything you needed without having points you didn’t want. I would recommend this model to anyone!
