This is my favorite college basketball team besides Illinois. WHAT ABOUT NORTH CAROLINA TAR HEELS?! They need the Tar Heel version of the Scared Straight version. Michael Jordan, James Worthy, Phil Ford are somewhere speechless. Dean Smith, Larry Brown, George Karl are crying somewhere. Vince Carter, Sean May, Rasheed Wallace are somewhere shaking their heads in embarrassment. Eric Montrose and JR Reid should be on the phone cursing Ed Davis. Ed Cota should be slapping Larry Drew II for his poor point guard play. I wonder during commercial breaks on NBA TV last night, did Eric Snow give Kenny Smith a hard time about North Carolina’s horrible play this year? The only thing Kenny Smith could say in his defense is talk about the 2009 NCAA title game in Detroit.

Last night against Florida State at the Dean Dome, there were plenty of seats available and then the Tar Heels laid an egg against Florida State. AMAZING! When they play Duke on senior night, I hope they at least make it into a game.

Tar Heel’s traditional route is to the McDonald’s All-American game, shine on ESPN and in the NCAA tournament, be seeded No. 1, a trip to the Final 4 no less, and then hit the lottery. This system has worked from Dean Smith to Roy Williams. The arrogance, the heart, the arrogance, the killer instinct of UNC hasn’t been there and they also lost to Duke for the first time since 2007.

As Brendon Haywood cries himself to bed in his new Dallas condo, I’m hoping Harrison Barnes can lead the Tar Heels back to the No. 1 spot where they belong. The NIT is not expected!
