3 healthy snacks for kids to make this summer

Summer time is just around the corner, it’s a great time to get creative with our kids’ snacks!

Here are some healthy snacks for kids that are perfect for hot, sunny days:

Summer fresh fruit popsicles

What do you need:

  • 1 kiwi, peeled and sliced
  • 1 peach, diced
  • 1/2 watermelon, pureed
  • 1/2 cup fresh strawberries, chopped
  • 1/2 cup fresh blueberries
  • 1 handful of fresh cherries, pitted and chopped

Make a dozen popsicle molds and then divide the cut fruits to fill each mold. To puree watermelon in each popsicle mold, filling to the top. Place a popsicle stick in each and freeze for at least 6 to 8 hours, or until ready to serve.

For easy serving, place each of the frozen pans under warm water for a few seconds before taking them out for the kids to enjoy.

Sweet N Healthy Granola Bars

What do you need:

  • 1 1/2 cups of almonds
  • 1 cup walnuts
  • 1/2 cup chocolate chips (preferably unsweetened)
  • 2/3 cups of pistachios
  • 1/3 cup Sukrin clear fiber syrup
  • 1/4 cup hemp seeds, chopped and cooked
  • 1/4 cup pumpkin seeds, chopped and cooked
  • 1/4 cup sunflower seeds, chopped and cooked
  • 3 tablespoons Sukrin Gold
  • 2 butter spoons
  • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt

Melt the butter in a saucepan and then add the Sukrin syrup, Sukrin Gold, ground cinnamon, vanilla extract, and salt. Stir well. Boil for 2-3 minutes until the mixture thickens. Add the cooked nuts and seeds, stirring to coat with the mixture.

Remove from heat and place mixture in 9×3 baking dish lined with parchment paper. Place another parchment paper on top and press to spread the mixture evenly in the baking dish. Let cool 10-15 minutes then refrigerate 15. Cut into bars and then refrigerate another 15 minutes.

Store granola bars in an airtight container.

Easy apple cookies

What do you need:

  • 1 apple (green or red)
  • 2 tablespoons peanut butter
  • Mini chocolate chips (preferably unsweetened)

Core the apple and cut it into “circles.” Spread peanut butter on top of each apple slice, then sprinkle with chocolate chips. Do this with each apple slice. Refrigerate for at least 5 minutes before serving so kids have more fun on a hot, sunny day.

Preparing healthy snacks for children is not complicated at all. If you make delicious and healthy snacks, they will no longer become junk food
