All the colors of Christmas

We are fast approaching the Christmas holidays and it is amazing to look around and see all the bright and festive colors that people display to cheer us up. I associate these colors with how they make me feel, in addition to eating. Here is my interpretation of the colors of Christmas.

Green: The greens represent the trees that we are so proud to present inside our homes as Christmas day approaches. Green also represents the smell of herbs that are cooked with the Christmas dinner. Rosemary, thyme, parsley, mint…mmmm. I can smell the arrival of Christmas!

Red: Reds represent the red ornament we hang on our trees to bring it to life. The red lights we hang around our windows to share our Christmas spirit with those who pass by. The reds also stand for fresh blueberries, red cabbage (a bit purple, but still appropriate), and red apples for baking fresh apple pies!

White: Whites represent the beginning of things to come. The beginning of life, the arrival of a new year and the beginning of a magical journey for us to begin. Some of us even enjoy the white snow that falls during this season. White also represents mashed potatoes, cauliflower, and rice. All great dishes to add to your Christmas dinner this year!

Gold: Gold represents the strength of love and generosity during this season. We have gold figurines, ornaments, and maybe a piece of gold jewelry for someone special under the tree! We also have gold wrapped chocolates for you to indulge in.

Brown-The color brown is reminiscent of the pineapples that we put in baskets so that we can enjoy the smell of the earth, of the forest, throughout our house. I can remember my grandmother having bowls of different types of nuts on the tables. She would have roasted almonds, walnuts, cashews, and walnuts. Many of these nuts she used in some of her Christmas dishes (new recipe ideas?).

Blue-Blue represents the sky and its wide range. It makes me feel that achieving things in life has no limits. I can sail far and wide to be as great as I can be. I will usefully buy food coloring and bake multi-colored cookies with my kids. Blue would be one of those colors. It’s fun, it’s festive, and it’s a way to bring everyone together for a creative activity.

These are just a few colors we see light up our hearts and bring us closer to Christmas cheer. Add some color to your Christmas and watch your eyes light up and sparkle!
