Butler Community College offers a unique independent study format

An accredited two-year community college located in El Dorado, Kansas in the United States, Butler Community College is a large college with over 9,500 students enrolled. More than others, the university is recognized for its independent study format used for multiple disciplines for which it has already earned top rankings in the Kansas College Directory.

Campus Features

On the community college campus dorms can accommodate 345 students. The ratio of students to the faculty is 1:17. Branch campuses are located in Andover, Rose Hill, Marion, McConnell, and Council Grove. Several distance learning sites are located at area high schools.

Brief history

Founded in 1927, the community college was originally called Butler Community College since El Dorado is the county seat of Butler County. However, the university was recently renamed.

Accreditation

The school is accredited with the Commission on Higher Education, the Association of North Central Colleges, the National League for Nursing, and the Kansas State Board of Nursing. Courses are offered in the areas of business, language arts, personal development, biological vocabulary, and legal and medical terminology.
