Horse racing systems come in many forms, from the most complex to the simplest and easiest to use. I have attended horse racing for five decades as a man and a boy and horse racing is in my blood. In that time I have seen many methods of making winning bets and making winning bets and have come to a conclusion. Nothing works all the time, but almost everything works some of the time. Remember you heard that from a man who creates and sells horse racing systems. It is the unvarnished truth.

Wow, there, you can say. A guy who sells horse racing systems telling us they don’t work all the time? That’s how it is. On the other hand, a good method is worth learning and knowing because with practice you can learn when and where to apply the methods successfully. It’s no different than playing golf when you think about it. Do you use the same club for each stroke?

Playing 18 holes is no different than playing the different races in a program. The only difference, of course, is that you can skip a race or two, but not a hole in the course. Each hole comes with its own unique challenges and each horse race comes with its own challenges. A good golfer thinks through the entire hole before teeing off.

A good horse racing handicapper can think of different racing systems and methods when watching a race. Perhaps there is something familiar that brings you back to another similar situation where a spot game or horse racing angle worked well. There may be too many unknowns and the player on the horse may decide that there are too many dangers and pass the race.

The best advice I can give you is to learn several good methods for finding positive betting situations where the betting public underestimates a bookmaker’s chances of winning. There are usually one or two on any show and therefore an opportunity to make a profit betting on horse racing. However, it is still very risky and there will be long win-loss streaks that will test the patience of the most experienced horse player.

The audience will always convince itself to make one of the runners the favourite. There are some races where a horse has something going for it that is not apparent on the racing schedule. You’ll have to look for that additional information, like a jockey who has successfully ridden a horse into the winner’s circle multiple times and meets that horse again and the public overlooks the fact.

Experience will teach you which methods to apply to certain types of races and which betting systems work with those races. The bottom line, of course, is always to demand value. If your experience shows that horses in a particular situation need to be 4-1 or better to make a profit, then wait until press time and only bet if the odds are good.
