Love notes in the wind, I love to walk the earth (2 poems)

love notes in the wind

I send you fragrant flowers… the smell of growing grain.

I send you free flowing music to float like the falling rain.

A singing stream that overflows with great adventures to tell

It transmits the joyful notes of the crystal bells of nature.

Peacefully grazing horses look up to hear the sound.

Then patiently resume your day on open hallowed ground.

The circling hawks roll gracefully like wind dancers

While the crows play their own ballet, these brothers and my family.

The laughter of children dancing innocently in the sun

The elders proudly praise everyone’s good deeds.

The whispers of the descending leaves surrender to the season

Like each and every living thing, it exists for its own reason.

Silent spiral of drifting snow that soothes the icy night

While in the depths the spirit remains, renewing life in flight.

Gray wolf standing on the highest peak surveying everything beyond

Now she adds her voice of solitude, but at the same time it enriches my singing.

I give you the hours of the moon to caress your silk bed

While the music tenderly fills your dreams with what is coming.

My gift to you a love song through all living things

Who thrives in this rich and good land… whose beauty I sing.

I love to walk the earth

Do you hear the silence? Whisper while I’m standing

And although I walk alone, it seems, I love to walk the earth.

Aren’t you scared out there? The question is often heard.

And although my voice is the only one, I hear much more than words.

The sound of the wind, the bushes and the sand, the crunch of the ancient sand…
And then the blinking of the lizard’s eye as I sit here in silence.

Distant thunder signals me, from darker worlds above…
While I open my arms, greeting the affinity with the sky.

Don’t you feel tired? So many miles away…
My strength seems stronger as I walk, the pleasure is in the game.

Are you afraid of losing your way? Through deep shadowed canyons…
Oh no, but if I shoot, the stars will guide my dream.

The evening star, both my friend, and the light of the moon is my mantle…
Those nights sound then a lullaby, the eye of the comet my candle.

Aurora gives me splendor, awakening to the day…
Coyote tracks have come and gone, the cat has passed my way.

Refreshing the waters of the stream, falling from the mount…
So many wonders everywhere, many more than one can count.

Mystery surrounds me, no matter where I am…
Such miracles that I am a part of, and so… I walk the earth.
