Yin yoga is a slow, delicious form of mindfulness that gives the body great flexibility and releases deep layers of tension in the fascia. It’s a moving meditation that is also deeply healing and soothing to the body, mind and spirit. It’s an important balance to the more energetic and dynamic styles of yoga that many of us are drawn to.

This yin yoga teacher training for meridians is for teachers and students who want to develop a deeper understanding of the practice through the lens of meridians and Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM). You don’t need to be a teacher to join this training, but you will come away from it with the tools to confidently teach yin yoga with the knowledge of how to integrate meridian awareness into your classes.

Through this training, you will learn to identify and understand the 12 principal meridians in the body. You will discover how to stimulate these meridians through yin yoga poses, allowing you to bring balance and healing into your teaching and students’ lives. You will learn to plan and sequence your classes according to seasons, emotions, body functions and the five elements theory to help students find their own inner wisdom and balance.

Meridian Awareness Yin Yoga Teacher Training

You will be guided through reflective yin yoga, meditation and breathwork practices to help you really embody the principles of yin. You will also be trained in how to recognise when someone in your class may be triggered by trauma and taught how to approach the practice with care and compassion.

The teacher training is delivered online, so you can do it from anywhere in the world. It consists of four modules and is self-paced, so you can choose to complete it in a month or spread the modules out over a year. Each module has video lessons, a downloadable manual and an 82-page textbook. You will also receive live sessions once a month and have access to recordings of the previous calls. The course is designed to give you the most in-depth and comprehensive experience of yin yoga that you can find.

A Yin Yoga Master Teacher Trainer, Emily has been exploring the physical and spiritual aspects of yoga for over 15 years. She has a passion for the ancient philosophies and believes that yoga can be used as a tool for holistic health and wellbeing. She teaches with a depth of knowledge and experience of the human body, biomechanics, energy healing and a deep awareness of trauma.

Emily’s journey to yin yoga was initiated by an adrenal fatigue diagnosis in 2014. As a result, she has developed an intimate connection with the body and energy and is passionate about sharing the profound wisdom that yin has to offer. She believes that it is a practice that is accessible to people from all walks of life and helps them to feel safe, calm and grounded in the modern world. She has a warm and compassionate demeanour and is committed to creating an environment of safety, support and community for her students.
