Merit killing in AJK Pakistan

The infamous Public Service Commission rebuked Machiavelli-like Prince and issued a clarification on the alleged alteration of the list of successful candidates on its official website. As John Keats said, “A beautiful thing is joy forever,” which satirically becomes “An unfair thing is sorrow forever.”

  • AJK PSC changed the Combined List of Merit after ten hours without any explanation or prior notification to the affected candidates. How can someone be so irresponsible, especially someone, a government institution?
  • This hypocritical Department claims the supremacy of merit, but violates merit itself by selecting candidates on the basis of written results. What was the need for the interview? How can this be done at the government level? Merit is far away in Pakistan, I suppose.

What is the truth? Let’s find out

Why was the list changed after ten hours on February 9, 2017? Why is the AJK PSC explanation published after 5 crucial days? They were sleeping? Don’t know how to run a public office? Don’t they know their responsibilities? This is something really fishy and fishy. The delay in explanation and lack of recommendation on this shows a lot of negligence on the part of AJK PSC.

What happened to the first original list? Isn’t it favoritism and nepotism? Isn’t it the bloodbath of Merit and Justice? How can someone be so irresponsible?

There have been 18 successful slates by the same Public Service Commission, why does this create such a huge drama. As Lady Macbeth would say, “Get out, accursed place, get out!” The Psc shouts the same mysterious mantra of “Merit out, damn merit out!”

I would suggest the following to rebuild trust and promote justice in the State.

  1. Affected candidates should be called in to show their version of the drama.
  2. A video camera must be installed and recording at all AJK PSC interviews as it is a must at CSS and other public service commissions. This can eradicate favoritism.
  3. Crossed-out candidates must be re-entered on the list and there must be a public apology on behalf of the corrupt authority.
  4. The AJK President and Prime Minister should have a vested interest in eradicating injustice and nepotism.
  5. The approval formula of the Css and other public commissions should be adopted. A candidate has to approve all nine documents separately. If you fail the English essay, you will be considered to have failed. Not what the AJK PSC commission did, they approved the candidate by adding Marking English Grammar. This is a ridiculous and disgraceful approval policy.

The serving candidates demand justice and call for eligible people to be selected instead of false merit holders, who promote corruption, cronyism, nepotism and immorality in AJK and Pakistan.
