Neandertine Diet: Your Guide to the Caveman Diet

The Neandertine Diet, also known as the Caveman Diet, is a dietary program created by Ray Audette. The name of the caveman diet is taken from the fact that the diet program encourages the person to eat like a caveman in order to achieve a lean, strong and healthy body.

The story of how Ray Audette discovered the Neandertine diet goes back to when he was 33 years old. At 33, he suffered from rheumatoid arthritis and diabetes. His doctor told him that his condition cannot be cured. When he heard the news, Audette decided to do some research to find a better cure.

His research eventually led him to adopt the hunter-gatherer eating style (the caveman diet). The same food habit that our ancestors ate, before they settled in agrarian societies. In just one week, his blood sugar levels returned to normal and after a month he lost 25 pounds. His arthritic pain finally healed and he noticed an improvement in muscle tone.

According to Audette, our human ancestors (Paleolithic race) lived longer and healthier than our agrarian Neolithic race ancestors. She claimed that Neolithic man was shorter and more prone to obesity. Paleolithic women also started menstruating earlier and had more children.

For the modern man to embrace the caveman-style diet, Audette suggests eliminating foods that require human intervention to become edible. Foods include milk, beans, grains, potatoes, alcohol, and sugar. Grains consist of wheat, corn, rice, oats, barley, and rye.

Audette also believes that carbohydrates trigger cravings and warns that these foods have negative side effects when consumed. The general rule of thumb for the Neandertine diet is that if a fruit or vegetable can be eaten raw, then it is safe. He explains that many vegetables and fruits are actually poisonous if not stored and processed properly. He recommends eating fruits when they are in season and limiting fruit consumption in winter to help burn excess fat.

The Neandertine diet can be summarized in 10 commandments:

– You must eat meat and fish.

– You must eat fruit.

– You must eat vegetables.

– You must eat nuts and seeds.

– You must eat berries

– You must not eat cereals.

– You must not eat beans

– You must not eat potatoes

– You should not eat dairy.

– You must not eat sugar.

So you can’t eat pizza, burgers or fries and you can’t drink beer or wine.
