Penis odor: some simple and basic tips

Hopefully, every man’s New Year’s resolutions included a new commitment to proper penis care, a resolution that can indeed have a major impact on a man’s life. And as part of his grooming routine, a man should be on the lookout for, or sniff out, the scent of his penis and make sure that distressing problem is under control. For those of you for whom fighting penis odor is on your must-do list, the following simple tips can make a world of difference to the scent emanating from your crotch.

Tips to combat penis odor

– Wash. One of the most important things a man can do to get rid of penis odor is to simply wash it every day. But washing up is about more than just standing under some running water for a minute or so. Men with strong penis odor problems need to use a little soap and get a good amount of lather. Since the skin on the penis is sensitive, make sure the cleanser used is mild and does not contain harsh chemicals or fragrances that can dry out the skin or create a rash. Also, for intact men, be sure to retract the foreskin and wash thoroughly under the hood. Often an intact man will benefit even more from getting the penis erect before cleaning it; this can make it easier for you to reach some hard-to-clean areas.

– Dried. Too many men quickly wipe their bodies with a towel when they get out of the shower. Penises and balls should be thoroughly but carefully dried; otherwise, moisture will stick to them. The penile area is already prone to excess moisture, which in turn helps bacteria to breed, which in turn leads to bad odour. So dry it completely; however, do not rub the penis too roughly, as this can cause skin irritation. Patting the penis dry is a better option.

– Consider a shave. Sweat and the bacteria it produces are a major cause of penis odor. Shaving the area can “cool” it down a bit (thus reducing the amount of sweat) and prevent sweat from building up in a thick mat of hair.

– Air it out. Since the penis is often trapped under two layers of clothing (pants and underwear), it is twice as likely to overheat. Add in the fact that the congestion of blood during the erection process adds heat and it’s easy to see why so much sweat accumulates. When possible, a man should spend some time naked (or at least naked from the waist down) to give the midsection a chance to “breathe.” Sleeping naked is often an easy way to achieve this goal.

– Take care of the diet. It’s true that what goes into the body has a big effect on what comes out, including sweat. Every man’s body processes food differently, but there are some foods that are more likely than others to create an “aromatic” tinge to a person’s sweat. Garlic, asparagus, onions, meat, and fish are among the most common culprits. It may be worth experimenting a bit and seeing which foods seem to produce an unwanted body odor from him.

Another important tip to combat penis odor: Use a premium quality penis health cream daily. (Healthcare professionals recommend Man1 Man Oil, which is clinically proven to be gentle and safe for skin.). To combat that odor, select a cream that includes vitamin A. This vitamin has special antibacterial properties that can go a long way in dampening the bacteria that cause penis odor. Since washing can dry out the sensitive skin on the penis, make sure the cream also includes a combination of powerful natural moisturizers, such as shea butter and vitamin E.
