Six incredible places to book your ski trip to Zermatt!

The beautiful and majestic Swiss Alps is where you will find the incredible ski country of Zermatt. The adventure and opportunities that await the expert and novice alike during the winter months are limitless. Here is a list of six of the best locations in Zermatt to plan your ski trip:

Arosa: This is in the eastern part of Switzerland and is popular in the summer months and the winter months. It is full and rich in history and tradition, creating an experience you will never forget. Best for an extended stay so you can take it all in and over 50 miles of pristine terrain, perfect for a complete Zermatt ski adventure. The clean air and majestic drop-offs challenge experienced skiers, and for nature lovers, the relative isolation is excellent.

Gstaad/Saanenland: This is the ski resort that will give you an experience without extreme difficulty. These are the courses that are best for beginner and intermediate skiers. The slopes are not as wild as some of the other slopes, but it is expensive ski accommodation in Zermatt which may make it unfeasible for families.

Murren – If you’re looking for a picturesque ski view of Zermatt, this is the place to book. Sitting in the Lauterbrunnen Valley, atop a 5,400-foot-high cliff, you’ll only get here by cable car. The hiking and sledding trails are some of the best in Switzerland.

Klosters: House in the eastern part of Switzerland situated on the Landwasser river. They offer a wide range of slopes here that are perfect for the novice skier and if mountain hiking is your thing, you won’t find a better place than here.

Laax/Films/Falera: A combination area that offers many summer sports and for the winter months ski and snowboard people will have many competitions to attend and/or participate in. There are more than 130 square miles of ski opportunities in Zermatt, making it a huge draw for the cross-country ski crowd.

Saas-Fee: In southwestern Switzerland, near Zermatt is where you’ll find The Dom, the highest mountain in Switzerland. Glacial activity is a draw and with sporting activities throughout the year, this is a Zermatt ski lodge that even includes summer skiing in some areas.

There are many blue rated runs that are perfect for intermediate skiers and advanced ski enthusiasts as well. And if you are a beginner, there are also some smaller slopes and ski schools.
