The secret to financial freedom!

It has always been humanity’s dream and desire to seek freedom: freedom of thought, freedom of speech, freedom of belief, and freedom of expression! Why then not financial freedom?

Wikipedia definition: “Financial freedom describes a well-planned lifestyle in which it is no longer necessary to work for income to cover your expenses.”

The Rich Dad, Poor Dad series and other books on personal finance really got me interested and I was asked why school and college didn’t teach us how to be financially savvy. Ultimately, it is debatable whether all of these books have been fictional or are true stories. The important point here is that it advocates finance through investing, real estate, independent business ownership, and other means of money-making and protection tactics.

Most of us are hungry and aspire to achieve financial freedom. When working in an organization without decision-making capacity. Management will dictate your financial well-being. You will assume the consequences of management failure, within or outside of your control. It could be external macro factors such as: market environment, competition, government policies, act of God… intentionally or not. You will reap the fruits of management mistake: downsizing, downsizing, pay cut and stagnant pay.

What happens after…? You start looking for another job. Maybe this time, your lady luck is shining, you manage to secure… wrong words to use, get a job in a big blue chip company, maybe better, work as a civil servant with a bowl of rice iron. In their minds, they must be saying – I finally made it in life…! Do an examination of conscience, do you really succeed? Your salary income may or may not be able to cover your daily living expenses. Or you may be one of the millions still struggling to pay your home loan, car loan, credit card, utility and phone bills… bills that don’t end…!!! !!

You may be very lucky, able to find a job where the paycheck exceeds your current living expenses. Perhaps you are one of the lucky few who earn a good income working at the top of an organization. But ask yourself this question: are you happy? Are you out of the everyday rat race? Are you out for cutthroat office politics? Are you out of getting stuck in daily morning traffic jams that never seem to subsidize?

It could be true that you like your job. Excellent….! But are you growing your money? Are you using the power of compounding to accumulate wealth so that when there is a day when you finally decide to quit your job, you have a mountain of wealth supporting you? Only when you have reached that financial stage can you proudly say: “I do what I love because I want to do it!!”

Financial freedom does not simply mean being free of debt, debt is one more expense. As long as a passive investment income can cover all expenses, one is considered financially free. This large enough “nest egg” passive investment should also be easily liquidated if necessary. In simplified terms, financial freedom is where you don’t need to work for money, but let money work for you!

“How do you do it?” It could be achieved by finding, learning and spending time, effort and money to build something (passive investing) that profitably and consistently generates income, long after the building is ‘finished’. There are many ways to build that money making machine. It could be investing or trading stocks, currencies, futures, commodities, or any financial instrument that can make money. Internet marketing, MLM, business ventures, and rental real estate ownership/capital income are other forms of money-making vehicles.

The biggest obstacle to financial freedom is that not everyone has the skills, experience, knowledge, and money to build it. The key to wealth is to find something that suits one’s ability and build it. The “money generating machine” can be more than one, it could be several machines. The size or number of machines you intend to build will largely depend on one’s desire, capital, and level of risk tolerance. Everyone is different. The important point is that you must be the one in control of those decisions that affect your life!

Your chosen path to financial freedom will also largely depend on your interest and the amount of money you have. It is true that you need money to make money, but it is also true that you can create wealth with little money. Many rich men and women have shown that if there is a will, there is always a way!

If you really want to achieve financial greatness, you must first remove all the subconscious blocks you have to making money. You must finally free your mind to create the wealth you deserve!
