There are over thousands of Halloween outfits to choose from, but what makes it unique is entirely up to you. You can search online for unique Halloween costumes that you can wear to a Halloween event or you can always make one out of whatever you can find around your house. Take your dirty laundry for example, you can always improvise it by smearing ketchup, mustard and paint on it to give it that muddy, gross look. Let someone else do your makeup and you’ll be on your way to becoming a zombie from The Walking Dead.

It’s the little things that create unique Halloween costumes like the one I mentioned above. For me, you don’t need to buy one to have fun. And if you still want more, here are some ideas for you to look unique at your next Halloween party.

Costumes for women
Most of the unique Halloween costumes for women I can find are online. You can buy most of them in general, but there are other costumes you can rent if you’re on a budget. Most of the costumes you can find can be sexy outfits and you can always wear them if you want. The devil costume is pretty common, so you might want to stay away from it. You can also wear skimpy clothes and come out sexy.

In my experience, what makes a costume unique is when you run out of money and really want to join a Halloween event. Here are some examples of what I mean about unique Halloween costumes.

• – The sleepy and lazy housewife. She wears your pajamas, tousles your hair or put it in curlers, and yawns most of the night. Put on those fuzzy bunny slippers and don’t put on your makeup. You can even bring a toothbrush if you want.
• – The victim. If you really want to turn heads, include this on your list of unique Halloween costumes. Wear torn office clothes and smear ketchup or fake blood on it. To enhance the jagged and paranoid look, mess up your hair and start screaming all over the place.

Suits for men
Again, there is no other accessible place for you to find unique costumes but online. From costumes like Top Gun, Elvis Presley, sailor style to Spongebob, Freddy Kruger or a mad scientist, you can always find them as a complete outfit type. These costumes can be very expensive and don’t necessarily make you stand out most of the time, especially when you find that one or two people are wearing the same outfit as you. And that is a problem.
As for men, here are some of the unique Halloween costumes you should think about:

• – The tourist stereotype. This may or may not be a bad time and a bad place to be, but try wearing a floppy hat, sandals, a flowery Hawaiian shirt, and long brown shorts. To top off that nerdy tourist look, put on your glasses, grab a camera, bring a map, and walk around like you’re lost.
• – Good old Cupid. I would recommend this for bigger, burlier people as it fits the whole concept of an over-the-top Cupid. Just wear a diaper, or if that’s too much for you, get a robe. Attach little wings to your back and get one of those bows and arrows you can find at a toy store. Glue a heart-shaped piece of paper to the arrowhead, then use the ribbon with “Cupid” written on it.

Suits for Couples
What about unique Halloween costumes for lovebirds? That’s a unique concept right there. I don’t see many couples doing this, but if you’re thinking about doing it, you can always try the following:

• – Samson and Delilah
• – Bonnie and Clyde (although I may need to emphasize this)
• – A teapot and a tea bag.
• – A key and a lock.

This list can go on forever, but just think of two things that go together and you’ll be fine.

Group Costumes
For me this is the most fun simply because you are having a good time as a group and the costume will no longer matter. Group Costumes also have a long list of unique Halloween costumes for you to ponder, and I’m sure these will be fun to wear and watch. Think M&M’s, your favorite ’90s boy band, a rock band, or a bunch of lost Spartans.

Wearing a unique Halloween costume isn’t hard if you just take the time to think about it.
