Williams Encore Piano Portable Keyboard – My New Best Friend

More for your money despite the economic crisis.

The Williams Encore digital piano is a portable keyboard, and while it’s not as lightweight as other brands’ keyboards, the sound is excellent. The Encore features 88 full-size hammer-action weighted keys (which is the main reason for its increased weight) with adjustable touch response. The adjustable response has 4 different touch sensitivity settings, allowing players to select the feel they like to play. The robust sound system included 30 voices, 32 note polyphony, metronome, effects; reverb and chorus. The Encore also comes with an LCD display, 58 play-along practice songs, built-in amplified speaker, MIDI, sustain pedal, pitch bend and mod wheels, and a headphone jack.

Although there aren’t many sounds available on the Encore, the feel of the action keys is very close to that of an acoustic grand piano over twenty years old. The excellent feel of the action keys doesn’t make me think of playing a less expensive keyboard. The Encore has dual functions, it can function as a midi controller or simply as a digital piano. With pitch bend and mod wheels included in the package, it’s great to have a midi controller. However, it may not be practical as a concert keyboard due to its weight, but it is good value for money.

The Williams Encore is a very refreshing keyboard. It really focuses on getting the job done…very simple user interface and has 30 voices and recorder. The simple design leads to an incredible experience on and off stage. I can’t imagine needing anything else. The real piano feels like a real deal. The Encore is the best for the price. The best feel and touch of the lower priced models and also some of the higher priced models. The Encore’s nice feel and fairly good tone make it a perfect portable digital piano keyboard for beginners and musicians. Check it out.
