278 million Americans are not prepared

It is unlikely that your grandparents, parents, teachers, spiritual advisors, or even your government have taught you how important it is to be prepared for an emergency, disaster, or catastrophe. There is a greater than 90% chance that my statement is accurate based on numerous recent surveys to determine how many Americans are prepared for an apocalypse. Was I wrong, or are you by any chance part of the 10% who are fully prepared for catastrophic change in your world as you know it?

If not, let me assure you that based on the most recent predictions from scientists, meteorologists, seismologists, geologists, volcanologists, physicists, astronomers, geophysicists, oceanographers, and epidemiologists, you should stock up on a few extra cans of beans.

Why does only the Boy Scouts of America have the motto “Be Prepared”? They also have an aggressive training program that teaches survival to young children, from the age of six, covering every imaginable scenario, from surviving in a desert to staying alive at sea. They are taught how to tie dozens of knots, build shelter, find water and food, and even find their way without the use of a compass. For every skill set they learn, whether it’s swimming, mountaineering, skiing, archery, rifle skills, or how to start a fire without matches or a lighter, they receive a “Merit Badge” to sew on the sleeves of their uniform or in a girdle worn around his neck and across his chest.

As these merit badges are accumulated, they automatically advance to higher levels or ranks. These recognitions start at Cub Scouts. And no matter what age they join, the Bobcat level is earned first by all Cub Scouts, then Tiger for 7-year-olds, the next Wolf level at 8-years-old, followed by Bear. The ten year olds become Webelos, followed by fourth grade Arrows of Light. Next is graduation into Boy Scouts with advancement ranks of achievement being Scout, Tenderfoot, Second Class, First Class, Star, Life, and Eagle. Eagle Scout is the highest rank attained in the Boy Scouts. Since the Eagle Scout rank was introduced in 1911, more than two million young men have earned this highest rank. Eagle Scouts are taught leadership and social skills.

If you’ve ever wondered why most Boy Scouts grow up to be prominent citizens, consider the organization’s framework, part of which is the Boy Scout Oath or Promise: “On my honor, I will do my best to to do my duty to God and my country”. and obey the Scout Law; help other people at all times; keep me physically strong, mentally alert and morally upright.” So what is this Scout law that they have sworn to obey? The Scout must be:

Reliable

· Loyal

· Useful

· Friendly

· Cuts

Gentle

obedient

· Cheerful

Thrifty

· Brave

Clean

· Reverent.

Wow, “…to do your duty to GOD and your country…” The Scout Oath and Promise is the only place where godless heathen judges and atheists have not completely eliminated God.

However, I digress. Why have I bored you with the history of the Boy Scouts? Because the Boy Scouts are one of the backbones of this nation helping to support its rapidly disintegrating and deteriorating spine. Let me help you put all of this into perspective. The proverbial feces are about to burst, according to all the experts; and less than ten percent of this godforsaken country is prepared for what’s coming. I’m sorry, but the light you see at the end of the tunnel that you think is daylight is actually the headlight of an out-of-control locomotive bearing down on you. Americans are totally spoiled, they’re not totally prepared. The early pioneers did not have Costco or Ralphs, clothing stores or hardware stores, electricity, appliances, cars, roads, pharmacies or hospitals. Did I mention Starbucks? They had no choice but to become one with each other and with nature in order to survive. They quickly learned to prepare for natural disasters, droughts, and long freezing winters and always be prepared for that inevitable “coming storm.”

Americans have never been taught how to work together on common tasks or important community projects, like building a church. Trust me and the experts when we say it’s not a question of if disaster is coming, but when. The storm is coming! When it does happen, you want to be fully prepared, or at least have a Boy Scout around to share what they know about survival.

If there is a large earthquake in California, it could trigger other faults like the Madrid fault in the Midwest, which would affect seven states: southeastern Missouri, northeastern Arkansas, western Tennessee, western Kentucky, southern of Illinois, southwestern Indiana, and northwestern Mississippi.

Experts say Mount Saint Helens is poised to erupt again, along with Mount Rainier and the Super Volcano, the Caldera in Yellowstone National Park. (Hundreds of tremors this year within a 100 mile diameter of the Caldera. Do your own research and you will learn that any one of these pending events coupled with an attack on our power grid from the sun, an EMP weapon, or a terrorist will plunge our country into the total darkness and chaos, with millions perishing. Most casualties will simply be the result of not being prepared, lacking the simplest of supplies, adequate water, food, medical supplies, alternative ways of cooking, keeping warm, etc.

If I have in any way motivated or persuaded you to do your own survival preparedness research, please understand that preparers on the internet can be your best friend or worst enemy when it comes to survival tips. Many have an ulterior motive or agenda, trying to sell you something on their website. I spent hours trying to find an unbiased website on the most critical survival supplies or equipment to share with you. I’ve found dozens of websites that claim to have the perfect top 10 or 20 list of the most important things to have in a natural disaster. What a joke! The 10 or 20 items they list are simply what they hope to sell you.

What is sad or really pathetic is that most don’t even have water on their list. Water is the most important critical component that determines life or death. The average healthy person can live 50-80 days without food (depending on stress level), but will die in 3-5 days without water. Personally, I fast on distilled water only every other year for a minimum of 21 days, and every three years for 40 days, water only. I even did a 60 day fast. Fasting cleanses your body and gives it a chance to rest. Imagine, most lists don’t include water or it’s at the bottom of their list in a quantity of a few liters.

You should always have food and water on hand for three to six months. For argument’s sake, let’s say nothing happens for the next ten years. What is the worst case? He has two years worth of food to eat for the next two years and stores two more years worth of fresh food. Now what if something happens? Case closed!

What’s better than just having stored water is having a way to purify your water in case you run out or gangs steal your stored water. In emergencies, disasters or catastrophes, the Red Cross, Homeland Security and FEMA recommend electric or non-electric water stills, not filters. This is because the distillation process kills viruses, cysts, all bacteria, parasites, and will remove toxins and most chemicals. . If you lose your water pressure, water filters and RO units are worthless; and simply boiling the water only kills the bacteria. Distillation removes all contaminants. With a non-electric water still, you can purify water from any polluted water source, river, lake, pond, pool, drainage ditch, even a sewer or the ocean. Since water is the most important survival item, if all you had was a non-electric water still, you could easily swap out the water for whatever you need! There are several non-electric water stills on the internet, and there is one that is fully automatic and produces 18 gallons per day using any heat source. I figured that was six cups a day for 48 people. Google survival still images and compare.

When it comes to storing food, remember: you’re not thriving, you’re surviving… A great long-lasting survival food is rice and beans. Together they have all the nutrients the body needs: proteins, carbohydrates, vitamins, minerals, amino acids, etc. Also, a cup of rice cooks into three cups, the same with beans. Both are stored forever in a seven gallon plastic bucket with a watertight, airtight Gamma lid. Two 7-gallon buckets of rice and beans provide one adult with a year’s supply of nutritious food (about 50 pounds). Survival’s websites want you to spend thousands of dollars on gourmet freeze-dried food in Mylar packets. For $20 at Costco you can buy 50 lbs. of rice and 50 lbs. of beans that will last one adult per year.

You should have warm blankets or sleeping bags in case you are forced to leave your house and sleep outdoors. A tent would be nice and a tarp to put it up. You need a first aid kit, extra batteries, flashlight and/or lantern, fire tools, lighter, matches, iron rod and firing pin, a way to cook food, mess kits, solar oven, propane stove from a single burner with a dozen 1 lb. tanks (you can cook on campfires when you run out of propane). Have a backpack with items such as a knife, can opener, hatchet, parachute cord or string, hand-cranked radio, light, or cell phone charger. Get a complete listing for a Bug Out Bag on the internet. Find out how to fully prepare for the next unavoidable emergency or disaster. Watch National Geographic’s “After Armageddon” on YouTube and ask yourself, what would you do in that same situation or would you have avoided it?

interpreting the times

Jesus said to the crowd: “When evening comes, you say: “The weather will be fine, because the sky is red,” and in the morning: “Today there will be a storm, because the sky is red and cloudy.” You know how to interpret the appearance of the heaven, but you do not know how to interpret the signs of the times.
