5 Reasons Why You Shouldn’t Give Up Your Blog Too Soon

1. It takes time for a blog to be successful.

One of the main reasons people leave their blogs is because nothing seems to happen or work right. For example, traffic may be low, people may not leave comments, etc. What many people don’t realize is that slow starts are absolutely normal, so it’s important not to get discouraged when things don’t happen the way you thought they should. If you’re blogging in a niche that isn’t very competitive, expect to spend at least 6 months blogging consistently, at least a couple of times a week before you see results. Competitive niches, take even longer.

2. If you give up too soon, you will always wonder if you could have succeeded.

One of the biggest regrets people have when they give up on something too soon is that, in the future, they may wonder what would have happened if they had just moved on.

3. It takes time to figure out what the blog is really about.

When I started my blog, even though I thought I knew what my site was about, I didn’t really know who my target audience was until I was at it for a while. The more I blogged, the clearer things became and the more enjoyable the whole process became.

4. The longer you blog, the easier it gets.

Make no mistake about it, writing is hard work no matter how long you do it. But the longer you do it, the easier it gets. For example, you’ll get to where you write faster, find photos to upload to your blog posts faster, etc.

5. You will develop a writing habit if you stick with it.

The longer you follow it, the more likely you are to develop a good, solid blogging habit. Anything that becomes a habit becomes easier and more productive, not to mention more enjoyable.
