A guide on what to wear to festivals

Festival season is right around the corner; soon millions upon thousands of people will be hitting the road to soak up the best music, drink and atmosphere of the year. The time is drawing near when dusty tents will be hauled from attics, wellington boots washed, and particular festivals prayed for to be bathed in sunlight. Certainly one festival that was prayed for more than others is Coloursfest in Scotland, a victim of Scotland’s temperamental weather on many occasions. Perhaps more important than the weather forecast is the lure the average clubber should wear for this annual event.

Colorsfest is Scotland’s oldest dance event and is back for the ninth year. The massive 6-arena event is a favorite with DJs and clubbers alike. 10,000 partygoers will descend on the River Clyde to dance the night away to the best DJs the world has to offer. Apparel will have a strong presence at this event, as it will be an opportunity to promote the brand to the nation’s youth, as well as offering them the chance to see the latest collection of t-shirts, jeans, shoes and jackets. Clubbers will take this opportunity to wear a wide range of t-shirts and hoodies to the point that we could see a festival wrapped up in colorful casual t-shirts.

Choosing the outfit to be worn for this event is an extremely important process that takes a lot of time and many factors are taken into account. Since clubbers will be on their feet most of the night, flat shoes are recommended. Leave the heels at home. For men, jeans are a must as this is a casual event along with a casual t-shirt as these tops are specifically designed for this type of setting. You want an outfit that allows your skin to breathe and keeps you cool throughout the night. Walking into the festival in sweatshirts and hoodies is perhaps too casual and can leave the clubber feeling uncomfortably warm during the course of the night. The variety of clothing typically worn by event-goers shows that you don’t need to wear cliché fluorescent outfits for clubbing events. Bright, vibrant colors are recommended as this matches the color theme. There is a wide variety of men’s and women’s casual t-shirts and stretch denim jeans to meet the needs of each individual; unfortunately they don’t sell whistles.

Coloursfest takes place in Braehead Glasgow on June 5, with stars including Mauro Picotto, Seb Fontaine and Dave Pearce. Tickets have been sold out for the last six years, so you better order them fast. Good luck and I’ll see you at the front!
