Basic etiquette from cubs to cougars: premature jumping

What does a puppy bring to the table that an old coot can’t or won’t? Youth, stamina, libido of course and a certain amount of innocence and sweetness that strengthens us. But if a cub lunges too fast, the cougar runs away. With that said, I think it’s a good idea to start a discussion about basic etiquette here on this website, as well as when we’re at events together.

The perception that a cougar (self-confident woman) is a hunter in the same way that a man is a hunter can be inaccurate. If a man transfers the same definition of the role to the woman and has the expectation that he will “get something” right away, he is likely to be disappointed.

Guys, here’s the bottom line: We are still women. We have a lifetime of experience to share and knowing them is a way to perhaps rekindle certain things in us that were lost while we were with the coots. Now some confident women will want to flirt; as in friends with benefits. Some may want to start out as friends as we move into this new mating style and find our comfort zone with it. Some will want to meet, mingle, dance, and chat with various pups before we make our selection. Some of us are thinking of exploring with a younger man.

Regardless of our hunting style or intentions, it is important that you be respectful, that you listen well, that you are empathetic and that you let us find our own rhythm with you. With that being said, please don’t splash us with solicitous emails about having a sexual encounter or approach us quickly and furiously in public. Coots do this. And the coots are what we are fed up and tired of. Ask us how we would like you to approach us. Be a gentleman. Get to know who we are as individuals. Ask us how our day was. Take an active interest in our lives and our feelings. Touch our hearts. Let us guide you into the realm of our Den, as each of us, as self-confident women, defines it.

Ladies, our experiences in life have given us wisdom, maturity, and perspective; the same things that puppies find so attractive in us. On the other hand, as self-confident women, we must set the limits of the puppies’ behavior towards us. In essence, we teach them how to treat us. And the most powerful word we have to set a limit is “No.” Some younger men are very mature and some need our guidance to develop the right social skills and become the men we want them to be. Think about what you are looking for and then see which puppy you can grow it in.

I added specific groups to this site so hopefully everyone can connect with what they are looking for. Cougars and cubs who want to be friends with benefits will find their mates in that group. If you’re so inclined to connect quickly, join that group. If you can’t find the group that matches what you’re looking for, click the GROUPS tab and add your own. Other than that, be respectful in your hunting style. Your efforts will be rewarded.
