Business Proposal – Does it Have a Happy Ending?
After 12 episodes, the romantic drama business proposal examples has finally come to an end with a happy ending for both main couples. But it was a rushed and confusing finale for many viewers.

Tae-moo and Ha-ri
Despite Chairman Kang Da-goo’s interference, the two couples manage to stay together. Ha-ri resigns from her position in the family business and decides to start her own company, with help from Young-seo and Sung-hoon. She also moves in with Tae-moo, despite her father’s protests.
In classic rom-com fashion, both the rich partner’s parents and Ha-ri’s are suspicious of their relationship. This results in the pair sabotaging blind dates (the best kind) while keeping the truth from each other. Ha-ri even tries to sabotage her own date, her company president, whose nickname for her is boobs (shout-out to Samantha and Rachel).
Eventually, Ha-ri meets the real president of GOFood, and she’s surprised by his kindness and genuine interest in her as an employee. To her relief, he also doesn’t call her boobs.
The two begin dating, hiding from their families to avoid getting caught. They’re even able to spend time alone by sneaking out for meals and coffee dates in secret.
Of course, it all comes to a head when Ha-ri tells Chairman Kang everything (including her fake relationship with Tae-moo). He immediately cuts her off and asks her to stop seeing him. In the end, though, he realizes that he truly loves her and is willing to move to the US for her. The two are happily together at last.
Young-seo and Sung-hoon
Business Proposal embraces many romance tropes, and it makes smart choices about which to keep and which to subvert. However, this commitment to including so many tropes also means that there are plenty of cringe-worthy moments. In particular, the show takes bad blind dates to new heights. When heiress Ha-ri finds herself seated next to Sung-hoon on a restaurant date, she’s utterly mortified and runs for the hills. But, the two soon run into each other again – this time at their favorite snack bar. After a few glasses of soju, Young-seo loses her filter and reveals that she fell in love with Sung-hoon the moment they first met.
Despite her best efforts to deny it, Ha-ri can’t help but be drawn to the kindhearted Sung-hoon. He convinces her to meet with him again and, while she doesn’t like the idea of being a pawn in his grandfather’s plan to secure business leverage, she agrees. She even renames herself Geum-hui to hide her identity and avoid tarnishing the reputation of her family’s company, GoFood.
The two begin to develop feelings for each other, and they spend more time together. However, they still face a challenge: the strict ultimatum issued by Grandpa. Fortunately, they come up with a creative solution to solve the dilemma.
Kang and Ha-ri
Business Proposal was a great romance drama with plenty of heart. Its cast was amazing and the plot kept you hooked from episode 1 until the very end. But it seemed like the production team tried to cram in too much and ended up with a rushed ending.
The finale was a bit of a letdown after all the buildup. However, it did have some sweet moments for Ha-ri and Tae-moo. It was also nice to see them interact with the children in an orphanage together. Although Chairman Kang was a bit upset to see Ha-ri with his grandson, he eventually softened.
In the final episode, Ha-ri tries to convince Chairman Kang that their relationship is real. She even goes so far as to mimic stereotypical chaebol behavior in front of him, including handing him an envelope full of money and throwing mugs of water in his face if he refuses to give her what she wants.
But Ha-ri’s ruse is not foolproof, and he eventually figures out her plan. He asks her to stop seeing him, but she does not heed his orders and instead meets him at the cafe where they first met. He reveals that the tests he had requested for his health condition actually revealed a serious problem with his blood vessels, so he has to travel to the US for treatment. He also asks Ha-ri to go with him, but she hesitates due to the rumors and the fact that her own boss, Young-seo, does not approve of their relationship.
Kang and Young-seo
As the finale of Business Proposal aired, fans were happy to see that it ended on a good note. The drama ended with a sweet and romantic scene between Tae-moo and Ha Ri walking together in spring. It was an excellent ending to this great drama which entertained the audience throughout its 12 episodes.
The show is filled with all the classic rom-com tropes such as secret office romances, contract relationships, forbidden rich-poor romances, etc. Despite all these cliches, the writers did manage to make the show enjoyable with its tongue-in-cheek approach to the genre. Ahn Hyo-seop’s character even references these cliches towards the end of the series in a wink to viewers.
Food researcher Shin Ha-ri (Kim Se-jeong, Lovers of the Red Sky) agrees to go on a blind date with workaholic CEO Kang Tae-moo (Ahn Hyo-seop, Lovers of the Red Sky) as part of her effort to scare off the rich-chaebol heir guys her father wants her to marry. But the truth is that she already loves him. After hearing her rant about how she’s ruined her chances with another guy, Young-seo lends an involuntary ear and encourages her to boldly pursue the man of her dreams.
This made her more confident in pursuing Tae-moo. She even goes as far as bringing him to her house under the guise of a dinner date. Tae-moo eventually reciprocates her feelings and proposes to her. She accepts his proposal happily.
