Getting your ex to return your phone calls can be the hardest part of getting them back. There are a number of things you should consider. First of all, you must be absolutely sure that your timing is perfect. In the case of getting your man back, time is really important. The program gives you a general plan and specific guidance for determining when the time is right to make contact.
If you make contact too soon or not soon enough, you will do more harm than good. A second thing to consider is: do you have a plan for how to proceed once you make that initial contact? Look, it doesn’t do you any good to hit the right time and convince your ex to call you back and then have nothing to do. You must have a complete and solid POA (Plan of Action).
Additional guidelines to consider, avoid any appearance of the following scenarios. This is Scene 1 where you are leading with the ex. “Honey, please call me. I need to talk to you. This is the 20th time I’ve called you today. What’s up? What did I do? If you let me know what I did, then I won’t do it again. Baby call me as soon as you get this message. In case you forgot, my number is…”
In scene 2, the tactic changes from begging to ‘it’s an emergency’. “Baby, call me before 5. I need information. It’s absolutely urgent. Ok. Bye.” Trust me, none of those usually work. No, you need the ideal reason to make that first call.
Ok, assuming you have perfect timing, a good POA, and a really good excuse to call, there’s one more point to consider. Are you emotionally ready to make contact? Once you call your ex, you don’t want to sound nervous or uptight. Rather, you want to come across as completely confident and in control. So just make sure you’re ready to make that initial call.
Now we’re ready to figure out how to make contact in a way that will make you look good and motivate your ex to call you back. We will be implementing two psychologically motivating techniques: Curiosity and Self Interest. We will both arouse your curiosity and act in your seemingly best interest. Your message will look something like this: “Hi John. This is Cindy. I wanted to tell you that I appreciate what you did for me. Please give me a call because I want to thank you in person.”
Can you see how this message will arouse their curiosity? They may be wondering, ‘What did I do and how do you plan to show me your appreciation?’ An advantage of this type of message is that it is presented in a pleasant tone of voice. Therefore, it will leave the recipient with pleasant feelings. On my show I discuss the importance of having pleasant interactions with your ex. As I mentioned earlier, you need to be prepared with a complete POA. Know what to do once your ex calls you back. Determine what you appreciate and also how you plan to show your appreciation.
