Sinpo, a famous city in North Korea

It is a port city located in the South Central Hamyong Province of North Korea. This is not really a traveler’s town, with fishing and aquaculture being the main business. However, Sinpo still includes a number of attractions that attract a number of tourists the following year. This can be only one of the 3 cities in the province. Two others are Hamhung-si and Tach’on-si. The city is home to 158,000 men and women, as well as an aquaculture cooperative and also the main aquaculture office. The location may also be the residence of nuclear reactors and defense facilities.

Getting into Sinpo can be considered a bit tricky, but when you get in, you have a much better chance of roaming more freely with a North Korean escort. The city, like most cities in North Korea, is surrounded by spectacular scenery, whether or not you’re looking from the coastal spots or seeking the valley through the mountains. The people of the city are also accommodating and hospitable and accommodation, if not offered in Sinpo, can be found in other cities. Travelers are generally made to stay in unique tourist hotels where challenging currency may be a requirement. Food and beverages are also available at select dining venues and benefit stores. You can find convenience stores meant only for foreign tourists and selected restaurants that provide food to travelers for hard currency. Even so, during the food shortage in Korea, food cannot be expected to be elaborate. Discounts may be offered for people traveling in groups or people traveling out of season.

Just like in any other Korean city, attention to customs and traditions, especially when North Korean guards are everywhere, is often a must. You must be courteous to the authorities, who tend to be incredibly touchy. However, most North Koreans appreciate gestures like giving gifts in the form of chocolates, cigarettes, and other trinkets.
