TVR – The sexiest of all British sports cars

They drive fast. They are elegant, British and very sexy.

They are the Cheryl Coles, Kelly Brooks, Liz Hurley and Sienna Miller of sports car design.

They are TVR… and they are the zenith of great British sports car engineering.

Forget other analogies of good Britain, like fish ‘n’ chips, roast beef, cream tea, and a pint in a British pub: we’re talking about desire; we are talking powerful; and we’re talking sexy… but we’re not talking dirty.

We’re talking great; we are talking exclusive; we are talking fit; And we’re talking about a date you want to keep with your next dream car.

The TVR brand has become something of a legend in recent years. Since it ceased production in 2007, the brand has been linked to numerous piston head rumors and the former TVR management team; Russian billionaires; two American businessmen who want to start production in Orlando of 5,000 units per year and the former CEO of TVR, David Oxley.

All I can say is ‘keep watching’.

TVR is in the hearts and minds of thousands of fans and owners, and its demise as a manufacturer is only temporary.

Would-be owners can get these sexy beasts online and from reputable UK TVR dealers.

Parts, service and post-sale support are guaranteed through the bona fide dealer supply line, and the vehicles and brand remain the favorite dream of many motorists.

When it comes to talking about individual models, I’m in my element and can rave about their specs and trademark cheekiness.

The word that best sums up TVR’s famous Chimera is… effortlessly. Powered by the legendary TVR Power, a development of the Rover V8, its 4.5-litre engine [285bhp] motor can take this beauty from 0-60 mph in 4.7 seconds and propel you from 0-100 mph in 11.2 seconds. With a top speed of 160 mph, you may not be in the fastest car on the road, but you WILL KNOW you are driving a fun car. Its heavy-gauge stainless steel exhaust system exudes incredible V8 sound and is optimized for peak performance.

Cosmetically, the Chimaera is a beautiful design enhanced by 15-inch front and 16-inch rear alloys. One look at the cockpit spells… seduction to behold. A 350mm leather-wrapped steering wheel is mounted on an adjustable column: everything about the design of the dash and instrument panel tells you: ‘I’m British and proud of it.’

TVR’s Tamara is a rear-wheel drive, 3.6-litre, inline-6, 2-seat, fully convertible sports car for the fun-loving motorist. Accelerating from 0-60 mph in 4.4 seconds, it can hit 100 mph in 9.5 seconds and 175 mph top speed. TVR’s Tamora has the power and pace to entertain and excite sports car fans.

Specs include ambient air temperature, engine alarm and immobilizer, remote window lock, removable face CD/radio and the usual bag of goodies like stainless steel exhaust, 16-inch alloys. [or Anthracite or Silver] wheels and refined finishes throughout.

TVR’s 2-door, 4-seat coupe, with an integral roll cage, gives the passionate and patriotic British sports car enthusiast an added dimension to interior space, along with power and luxurious comfort. The Cerbera is certainly a class act to watch, if you’re trying to catch up on the open road. Is

4.2 liters [360bhp] The V8 engine will get you from 0 to 60 mph in 4.2 seconds. It can quickly hit 100 mph from a standstill in just 9.9 seconds and keep going up to a top speed of 180 mph.

Not forgetting the Cerbera’s 4.5-litre big sister, which can give you a real adrenaline rush by reaching a top speed of 310 km/h. Both feature sumptuous interiors with all the comforts associated with TVR’s advanced engineering, along with ice detectors, electric windows, remote window closing, alarm and engine immobilizer.

These girls really turn heads and from behind could be mistaken for a Jaguar coupe, but not by a TVR pundit.

How can I NOT get excited when mentioning TVR’s Tuscan?

In a word… temptation.

TVR delivered a rear-wheel drive 2-seat straight-6 straight-alloy engine. The larger Tuscan S offers a 3995cc capacity that will deliver a top speed of over 195mph. The Tuscan sports 18-inch alloys and looks like a baby beast to drive, but it drives like a dream. From the moment you feast your eyes along the front of her slouch hat and up to her alluring eyes,[gas discharge headlights on full beam]Your heart will begin to beat in unison with its 390bhp engine.

Everything about the Tuscan S says simplistic design meets great British engineering: inside the interior, its machined aluminum finish contrasts with the interior cockpit and innovative steering wheel design as a profoundly British axiom… She’s brilliant. She talks to you saying ……… ‘Ride me for all I’m worth and enjoy the climax at 195+ mph’.

How can anyone resist his pulsating charm and power?

TVR’s prestigious portfolio of classic sports cars and coupes would not be complete without the T350 two-seater, 3.6-litre, inline-6, rear-wheel drive. Its compact good looks are alluring and shouldn’t fool motorists as it has incredibly responsive performance. Any sporting animal that can reach 60 mph from a standstill in 4.4 seconds is a T350 tiger waiting to be tamed. With its attractive racing seats and interior styling, the T350 has a bit of mischief in its demeanor.

The 18-inch alloys give it a striking stiletto stature that no testosterone gas head can ignore.

Pull up to the bus stop in this curvaceous centerfold and that incredibly attractive babe you walk past every day will be drooling over your asset and won’t be able to resist your polite offer………

Do you want me to take you to the city in my TVR? you ask.

There’s a brief pause, which seems like an eternity to you, and then she answers…

“I would have preferred the Tuscan S, which is a class act and epitomizes TVR’s throbbing performance values.”

“You’re the class act in this conversation, beautiful,” you confidently reply.

“In that case, I know you are a gentleman and the T350 will not undermine my status in front of all my co-workers.”

You lean over and open the door and the girl of your dreams steps in. You’re in heaven and the T350 purrs like the baby next to you as you accelerate smoothly.

If only…….? If only…….?

If only a dream can come true, how to buy a classic TVR?

For every motorist today, their dreams MAY soon come true when they search for that special TVR sports car.

Internet-savvy motorists will have no problem finding a pre-owned classic model online.

Upload your specs, which shouldn’t include that the owner must be a Kelly Brook look-alike, and before you know it, the TVR is in your grasp. Do not forget to specify the model, engine size and color preference, mileage and budget parameters; will reduce response disappointments.

Girls may prefer the Griffith 500 with its more compact and attractive appearance. DO NOT be fooled by a false sense of security as once again TVR has hidden a 5 liter 90 degree V8 beast under the hood. It will take you from 0 to 60 mph in 4.1 seconds and hit 100 mph. [from a standing start] in 10.5 seconds. Offering a top speed of 167 mph, you know your natural feminine charms can be overwhelmed by a sudden urge to go macho and aggressive…and forget about the lady in you, in your excitement to go boyish!

There’s a touch of class in the Griffith 500’s walnut dashboard, leather steering wheel, mohair soft top, stainless steel exhaust, tinted windows and 7-spoke alloys. She vibrates positively, even when she’s parked, deflecting the envious glances of jealous motorists.

Let temptation take over your driving aspirations.

Don’t go the pragmatic path by evaluating all the reasons why a TVR is not your bag. Do you want to be another boring babe or a ‘soft boy’?

Avoid driving to the nearest Ford or Vauxhall franchise dealership and inspecting a piece of family car mediocrity.

‘Have a little faith’, as Oddball said in Kelly’s Heroes. ‘Always with the negative vibes, have a little faith.’
